I teach High School Chemistry. It never ceases to amaze me how little the students are able to solve a problem logically. Instead of thinking through the entire process, they only want to find the "Right Answer".
Currently we are doing gas laws, so I tell them to try and imagine a situation and go from there. However, when I look at their explanation, it often makes no sense. Things such as "When the pressure is held constant, the pressure increases." Are you kidding me?
I know I am not the smartest guy ever, and wasn't always the smartest when I was in high school, but I am pretty sure I knew how to think.
